Paul Revere was not a unique hero before the Battle of lexington,but if you only read the poem you would think otherwise. I'm going to tell you about paul revere's famous ride. In April 18 1775 a poem was written after paul's ride. Paul said to his “If the British march By land or sea from the town to-night, Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch Of the North Church tower as a signal light,One, if by land, and two, if by sea; And I on the opposite shore will be, Ready to ride and spread the alarm Through every Middlesex village and farm, For the country-folk to be up and to arm.” This quote means that he and his friends were trying to warn the people. One of the documents that we are reading are the Longfellow’s poem, i'm going to tell you a little about the poem first off the poem was written way after Paul Revere's ride. The second document that we are reading is the Belknap Letter. The belknap letter was actually written by Paul Revere himself, this possible makes this document it more truthful. …show more content…
I found 3 Similarities from the letter and from the poem. One similarities was they both talk about saturday night at 12 o’clock at night. Another similarities i found was they both also talk about paul revere midnight ride. Heres another one, they both talk about that paul revere was a hero. I do believe that paul revere was a hero, but not before the battle of lexington. Before the battle of lexington he was a normal guy and now he's known for the midnight ride of paul revere.
