Author: Paula Hawkins- No I haven’t read any other books from this author. I decided to read The Girl on the Train for my book report. Paula Hawkins is the author of The Girl on the Train. This book is a mystery and drama type of book. The Girl on the Train exploded in the best-seller list in January. Paula Hawkins said “ There have been 2 million books that have been sold in the U.S. in the past four months. It’s one of the fastest selling adult novels. I chose to do this book because I really wanted to see the movie but I thought I would do this one differently and read the book, so I would be able to compare the two. I enjoy reading mystery books a lot so when I read the summary of this book I got hooked right away. This book got kind of confusing for me but really you just have to put the pieces of this book together. She knew she didn’t kill Megan. As Paula Hawkins quoted “I'm starting to believe that there isn't anything you can do to fix it. That's what I've taken from the therapy sessions: the holes in your life are permanent. You have to grow around them, like tree roots around concrete; you mold yourself through the gaps.” I believe that this quote really does relate to Rachel at a point. She never gave up on trying to remember what actually happened that night. When the investigators would come up to her and kept asking her if she had killed Megan she kept saying no because even though at that moment she couldn’t remember exactly what was going on she knew that she wouldn’t have killed Megan.
