Peaceful resistance is an important part of our society. A reason this is so important to our society is because it involves one of our most basic rights, free speech. While in it's most basic form somebody protesting a law that they consider unjust is wrong. But when you see that the person protesting the law by breaking it can show how ridiculous a law is like when Rosa Parks did not want to move to the back of the bus. As a society we had decided that the African-Americans should sit in the back of the bus if a Caucasian person wanted the seat. From today's point of view we see this as unfair and if it were to happen to somebody we would quickly call out the racism in it and then change the law. There are laws that either directly or indirectly affect a group unfairly. And much like in the days of the Civil Rights Movement we believe that our laws are fair and cannot see how some laws are morally wrong and take away the liberties of some men. By having people peacefully disobey laws it can call out the idea that the laws are fair and we as a society can move forward and change the laws. Without the ability to call out laws as unfair we cannot be free as a society because the ideals of people would not ever change and we would be living in a society that has laws that are unfair and bias against people and we would consider it okay. Civil disobedience has the ability to change this. This is the reason that civil disobedience has a positive impact on society. We can collectively agree that overall as a society we have gained more rights. These rights are important in order to maintain a free society. And a free and fair society is exactly the reason that America was founded. America was founded so that people could act and think freely while being treated equally to the man who acts differently and thinks
