Pearl Harbor was a devastating tragedy that was brought upon the Western nation known as America and its attacker was Japan. On December 7, 1941 there was a surprise attack on an American naval base stationed on Hawaii near Honolulu. Two thousand American soldiers and sailors died horrifically. This attack was considered the most catastrophic attack on American soil for decades. The attack was solely caused by the influences America had on Asia, the suppression of material goods, and the control of the Pacific ocean. Japan was frustrated that America wouldn’t budge and give in to their demands, so they decided to attack America. One day after Pearl Harbor Franklin D. Roosevelt announced that America was deliberately attacked and that they would remember this day when congress declared war on the Japan. May that be civilians or unaware/unprepared soldiers being attacked both have had severe casualties. Also these tragedies only push the victim country to fight harder during the war to make sure all the innocent lives didn’t die in vain. These attacks were both of these attacks carried out in early morning and came from the skies. Mostly important was that these attacks had little notice of the incoming planes and how devastating they would of been. As much there are similarities between the two event there are an equal amount of differences between the two. One of the many differences was the duration of the attack. America suffered a couple minutes, while Britain suffered a constant barrage for weeks. Another difference is that Japan had one direct objective attacked the naval base named Pearl Harbor, while Germany had a more open target to hit.
