Would you rather pay $10 a month for itunes or download a song illegally and pay $10,000 a month for next 6 years in restitution? I agree that people should be prosecuted for piracy, as long as piracy is available people are going to take advantage of it. Illegally downloading music is against the law, teens download pirated files more than anyone else, and it’s not fair to the musicians who take their time to create their own music.
Everyone knows someone who downloads free music or they download free music themselves. Downloading free music is illegal and can result in criminal penalities.
