President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Dear Fellow Americans, as the president of the United States of America I believe it is my duty to address to each and every one of you about the daily problems and success of America. We have our ups and downs but I believe I can help all of you and the United States. In March and the end of my “hundred” in office and the unemployment rate has rose tremendously. Over 13,000,000 citizens of America have lost their jobs and have no way to support their family. Many have become homeless and continue looking for jobs, but with a bad economy how can we help them? Many are in danger of losing their farms, homes and reforms. I have come up with a program for the recovery of business and agriculture, relief to the unemployed and to those in danger of losing farms and homes and reforms through the establishment of the Tennessee Valley Authority and my New Deal Program. Unemployment and a bad economy is not our only concern, we have been hit with national threats, such as the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, by Japanese forces. The attack left many surrounding cities and Hawaii completely demolished. As an effort to contact and help and survivors, I organized the Nation's manpower and resources for global war.
Feeling that the future peace of the world would depend upon relations between the United States and Russia, he devoted much thought to the planning of a United Nations, in which, he hoped, international difficulties could be settled. In our process of protecting the United States and citizens from other national threats we have made some allies. Some of these countries include, Great Britain, France, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Greece and the Netherlands, they have come to support us throughout this war with Germany. Great Britain has helped us with underwater attacks, by producing large supplies of submarines called U-Boats, to attack any on coming or attacking German war boats.
