Before 1870, there were many historical sites that were built. One of which is here, at downtown San Jose, where many tall buildings and grocery stores stand today. Covering the tiny area, The Peralta Adobe, which was named after its owner Luis María Peralta, was restored in the mid-nineteenth century and now stands as a tourist location where there are tours on certain days that are offered. This place is open to the public and anyone is allowed to visit it even without the tours. Though the Adobe is open to the public, one cannot enter the house that is built since it is locked on days that there isn’t a tour. American culture in the past have now changed to where it does not matter who one is, culture can be expressed through many aspects, one of which includes activities. The area near the Peralta Adobe, has now became a major attraction for people around San Jose. Some of the activities that are included around the area include a Farmers' Market where people that own different business set up food stands or small stores to sell items. According to the San Pedro Square Market website this Farmers' Market is a every week event, which now makes this part of the culture for the people around downtown San Jose. From picture four and five it can be seen how this culture of outer food stands and food area is a great place for people to interact and socialize while enjoying the historical landmark right beside it, the Peralta Adobe, which started this city's buildings and humongous area. From scouting to settling, the Peralta Adobe marks one of the most significant buildings that was built in California, this site has a long history which can be discovered through some of the pictures that are taken and put up near the areas around the Adobe and inside areas that are near the
