In the movie, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” Percy was raised by his mother and her stepfather Gabe. He was a cruel man who hated Percy and his Mother. He also had a best friend named Grover. Percy’s only escape it seemed was water. He could sit at the bottom of the pool for seven minutes and always wondered how he could do that. He also thought he was dyslexic. Until one day, he found out. It was just another day at his High School field trip when his substitute teacher turns into a fury and accused Percy of stealing a lightning bolt and flew away. Confused, the museums professor, who eventually became his trainer explained how Percy is a Demigod. He was half mortal, half God. His best friend, Grover, was a satyr.
