Percy Jackson is a twelve-year-old in Queens, NY, living with his mother. This is Percy's story of his life for the past year. Their class takes a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see ancient artifacts. Percy notices Nancy Bobofit flinging peanut butter at Grover, his BFF. Grover advises Percy that everything is okay and he shouldn't react because he knows Percy will be blamed. Mr. Brunner, Percy's Latin teacher, tells him the story of the Titan Kronos who ate his children! He also says Percy it's crucial he begins thinking of how this information is essential in his life. Nancy won't seem to leave Grover alone, Percy is very frustrated. The next thing everyone knows, Percy is being blamed for pushing Nancy into a fountain.
