As a quote said by Bryant H McGill, a social activist and author, “Why do we laugh at such terrible things? Because comedy is often the sarcastic realization of inescapable tragedy”, meaning people laugh to relieve their stress and scared thoughts. This thought would relate a lot back to when Marjane’s family, with her Grandmother in addition, is laughing at the thought of the Grandmother dying and becoming a martyr.
