The theme of Hopes and Dreams have clearly affected the characters in many ways possible, shifting the story to unexpected paths. The character, Lennie, experiences this the most to pursue his goal, and is supported by his friend, George. In the book, Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck constructs a dreamy and sad story, where the two main characters, George and Lennie, pursue a path to reach their dream goal. Steinbeck’s purpose of this theme is to demonstrate perseverance, where Lennie and George pursue their dream, even with a huge disadvantage on their side.
