Each character in this unit had an obstacle to overcome it took a lot of determination to overcome them. Farah Ahmedi, Bilbo Baggins, and Aengus all had similar obstacles they had to face to accomplish their journeys. It took an amazing amount of determination perseverance for them to accomplish what they thought they couldn't.

Farah Ahmedi: Other Side Of The Sky

First and foremost, Farah Ahmedi had a prosthetic leg that kept her from getting to safety. To get through the Afgan gate she had to climb a mountain, her prosthetic leg made it difficult but her determination and perseverance gave her the energy to get the task done. According to the text" I was walking quite well that day, quite athletically, I had that good prosthetic leg from Germany. "This tells us that everyday may not be hard for her but sometimes its a challenge. Then it goes on to say "Perhaps desperation gave me energy and made me forget the rigor or the climb." Farah Ahmedi had a lot of determination and perseverance when necessary and it gave her the motivation to make it to the Afgan gate.

Aengus goes on to explain how the girl magically disappears and how his mission is to keep looking for her. Finally, Aengus says he's old with wandering but he will find out where she has gone. This gives us the feel that Aengus has been wandering since that day and still hasn't found her. From Aengus we can learn that if you have the right amount of perseverance and determination you can and will succeed in the goal you are trying to accomplish. Aengus is on example of a person who never gives
