While we were all little kids our parents always read books to us about being nice, sharing, caring, loving, and perseverance. Most of the books we read about growing up teach us many of the things we do now, that we don’t really even have to think about anymore. Perseverance is one of the things we start learning while we’re young, and keep learning about it as we get older. We are taught that perseverance is about never giving up when you’re facing difficult times, but there’s much more to it than that. It’s about fighting to accomplish what you need to accomplish, working harder than you have ever worked, and when you’re done it should give you that feeling of conquer after a war. In this book, two people from each district are picked to fight in the national hungers games each year. Katniss, the main character, and Peeta are picked for district 12 and are sent off to go fight. While fighting they never give up when people are stronger than them or better than them. Katniss was always unwilling to accept her fate in District 12 because she never gives up, ever. She really can’t give up because she doesn’t want to die and she wants to make it back to see her family again. Throughout the book she always finds out a way to accomplish any task or anything that gets in her way. She is able to use her resources, work hard, and think on her feet which makes her really good at never giving up and fighting for her …show more content…
Falker, is one children’s story shows that by never giving up you can become better at something that you thought you would never be good at. This is about a girl who has trouble with reading because she’s dyslexic and starts to give up on herself because her friends are making fun of her. Then her fifth grade year rolls around and she has this new teacher that realizes her struggle and helps her with it. Although she tries to give up a lot of the time, her teacher doesn’t allow her to because he knows that she can do this. She keeps working hard at her problems and once she realizes that she’s getting better at it, she starts to work harder at it. Sooner or later she learns how to read better than she ever was able to and she’s so proud of herself and thanks the teacher that took so much time to help her. If you don’t ever give up on yourself you can accomplish most things and when you do you’ll become the happiest person on earth. This book shows an excellent example of that and teaches kids that if something comes hard to them to not just give up, but fight harder. Perseverance doesn’t always come easy for people, but if you have the right mindset you can accomplish anything. It can make you a better person once you realize that by never giving up you can do more than what everyone expects out of you. It definitely gets hard sometimes, but you need those hard days so you can fight through them and have more great days. Perseverance has taught many people
