My plan before my dad passed away was to go to C-TEC for their firefighting and EMS program which I did. I am now a professional 240 firefighter and also a certified EMT-Basic. I planned to graduate high school and go to college to get a degree in fire science. After I earn that then I would enlist into the Marines. Lets back up a few years. When I was in middle school my dad became addicted to pain killers because of his back. He had a tumor, but the doctors did not see it in any of the x-rays or MRI’s, so they just prescribed him pain killers. He then he lived with one of his sisters for a couple months so they could help him get sober. I had planned to leave work early to do homework. While I was at work my mom was texting me asking when I would be home. I told her when I planned on being home which was around noon. The time comes for me to go home and get started on my homework, but on my way home my mom texted me again asking when I would be home I told her about two minutes. I thought it was strange that she kept asking me. I got home, took a shower and got started on my homework. I was sitting in my room my mom comes in and asks me to come downstairs. I got down there and ask what she needs then suddenly my oldest brother walked in and at that moment I knew something was wrong because he was at work with me. I looked over at mom and I notice that she is about to cry and she looks at us and says “Your dad has passed away”. I stood there in shock and disbelief. We both break down in tears not knowing what to think then Jeremy my brother asks her how he died and she said “I’m not sure, but your grandma thinks it was a seizure because she found him lying on the floor just outside the bathroom”. He had a history of having seizures as I mentioned before. My grandma found him just outside the bathroom where he collapsed. She immediately called 911 and tried to save him, but was unfortunately unsuccessful. The paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced him dead on scene. The autopsy revealed that he died from multiple
