Personal Narrative: A Career As A Soccer Player

I am the type of person who believes that talent does not necessarily is born with you the day you meet the world, for some, talent is a process you need to discover and work to become the greatest. With that in mind, I am more than grateful to say that I have been gifted in being able to discover and grow a talent in the beautiful game – soccer. Ever since I was 5 years old, I knew that I was in love with the sport and little did I know was that throughout the years as a soccer player I was going to adhere many characteristics that make me the person I am today. I strongly believe that being talented in soccer has aside from teaching me many aptitudes I now possess, such as attitude, responsibility and discipline among others, it has aided me in implementing those qualities in a diverse number of situations and my saliently, my education. To begin with, it is important to comment that being able to understand soccer at a young age was not only about making goals, winning games and having joyful afternoons surrounded by teammates and family. From my perspective, discipline is characteristic that must not only be applied in sport but in life as well. I am honored to say that my interest in soccer made me obtain a strong discipline. Coaches constantly say that discipline wins championships and I am in total favor with that. This aptitude I possess of discipline has helped me become obedient and a person who understands situations. Being disciplined has taught me to obey by the rules otherwise accept the consequences.
