Personal Narrative: A Career In NASCAR

When I was younger, I never really had any interest in cars or racing. Moving down south in 2010 Mooresville, North Carolina with my mom and brother for my stepdad because of his career in NASCAR. Being in that part of the country and being exposed to cars and racing more being brought to the shop so that my stepdad could show me some things about the cars he worked on. Thats really is when I became really interested in racing. Before I went to North Carolina I was exposed to racing, but a very little, my dad used to race at Beach Ridge and my uncle has in own parts shop behind the track. Waking up early and heading to the shop I was excited thinking about being 16 and working at a professional shop. Getting to the shop the first thing Me and the other guys my age were doing was moving all the extra, old tires to behind the shop and stacking them to get them out of the way, the second thing was cutting up all the old, outdated body pieces and going with the crew chief's son and another one of the guys to the dump to drop off all the cut up pieces than going to get lunch. When we got back to the shop we ate lunch, then went back to work me and the other guys grabbed the car cleaning stuff and cleaned all 8 cars in the shop to get all the rubber marks, dirt, bugs, and dust off to make them look presentable for the sponsor coming in the next day to decide if they would want to put their name on the car. After cleaning the cars we went outside and worked on the pit car which is the car that the pit crew uses to practice pit stops so that there is as little mistake as possible and so that they can be as quick as possible.
