Capturing a moment in time with just one click of a button is an incredible experience. To have the ability to save emotions and memories forever is magical and many people take that for granted in this day and age. Since I was a child I was around a camera, but I was mostly the model. My father always took photos of my siblings and I, like most parents he wanted to capture every moment. By the time I was 6 I grew very interested in photography because of his influence. I was gifted a plastic childrens camera that was bulky and obnoxious but I absolutely loved it. I would carry it everywhere, taking pictures of random objects, making my parents stop and wait as I imprint my surroundings into that camera. Before high school all I owned was a normal point and shoot camera because they are fairly cheap, so the first day I saw a Canon Rebel T5i, I fell head over heels in love. DSLR cameras are expensive for a high school student and my parents could never scrounge up enough money for one, so when I got to use one in my Intro to Photography class I thought I would need a crowbar to pry it from my hands. The year after, I took Advanced Photography and that was the year I really clicked with my teacher. Because the class was so small he was able to individually help each of us, with his help my photos changed for the better and I started to love photography even more. By the end of my sophomore year my teacher had us enter a county art competition. After a few weeks the results were in and I was a nervous wreck, I never entered a competition before so I put a lot of pressure on myself.
