After 12 years of being out of school with no sense of direction, I finally decided to pursue a career in the nursing field and become an RN. When I was younger I was careless and did not have a plan for my future, but things are different now. It was until just recently that I realized I had not accomplished much in the past 12 years and knew I needed a change to make things happen. To be successful with achieving a career in the nursing field I need to start by having a plan to be successful in school. My plan to be successful in this class is to have perfect attendance and not skip class. Also, I need to stay focused and not get distracted. I will need to get comfortable with asking questions when I need help fully understanding something. I expect to keep a good grade in this class by successfully completing all assignments and have them ready to submit at least one day before the due date. I cannot be irresponsible and miss class for any reason. I know that the only way to get the information I need to pass this class with a good grade is to attend every lecture.
Staying focused during lectures is important because it will allow me to take great notes for reference and to study. Staying focused also means giving myself the time to do any assignments, complete any readings before the next lecture, and setting time aside to study. If I keep my head straight and stay focused I know I can pass this class with a good grade.
At times, I tend to stay quiet and not speak up when I have a question but stepping out of my comfort zone will help me better understand a topic whenever I am in doubt. This might be a challenge for me because I can be a bit shy but I’m here to learn and if I do not ask I might not get the answers I
