Personal Narrative: A Christian Camp Who Changed My Life

I will never forget the church camp I attended the summer going into ninth grade. Like most people, this was a very awkward time in my life. I was struggling to fit in but at the same time trying to discover my “true self;” which was immensely difficult when I couldn’t decipher the difference between who I wanted to be and who I wanted to be like. I was solely focused on saving up to buy another “cool” outfit or trying to get invited to hang out with the “cool” kids. Going to church all the time and singing worship songs definitely did not fit into the cool kid’s agenda. As much as I pretended to be happy, I knew I wasn’t.
As the four day camp progressed, we played tons of games, roasted marshmallows and overall just had a pretty typical camp
