Personal Narrative: A Day At Ellisville Elementary School

It was a sunny April afternoon at Ellisville Elementary School, the temperature was rising and summer was fast approaching. Kids were getting excited, the thought of summer was uplifting and you could feel the happiness and excitement pouring out of kids as they ran around playground. At recess my friends and I played a competitive game of basketball. The black top pavement we always played on was nothing short of a war zone. The court was like an outdoor sauna as the blacktop would reflect the hot waves of the sun straight onto us as we played. Everyone played until their shirts were completely drenched in sweat. Needless to say we left everything out on that court, nobody liked losing. We spent half the time just arguing over calls we made in our sweat drenched shirts. As we debated, we found ourselves stopping every two seconds just to catch a breath and we could barely even speak so hardly anything got resolved. When my teacher Mrs. Jones blew the whistle three times, it was time to go in. It was like I completely forgot what had previously happened and I just moved on. Other kids in the room were still shaken up and they kept talking about what had happened. Mrs. Connell didn't enjoy the kids talking about it and she told them to stop, but they couldn't stop talking about it because it was the only thing on their mind. When I went up to the rest of my class, and with the most positivity and happiness I told them all a joke and they all laughed. When I told the joke, it made them stop talking about what had happened and it caused them to keep telling jokes to each other.
