Personal Narrative: A Day Before Deer Hunting

In life I’ve had some accidents with sharp knives, but I would never of thought that it would’ve been this bad. It was November 4th, the day before deer season opened up, my dad and I left early before school started to start our 2-hour drive to my cabin in McGregor about 20 min northeast of mille lacs. When we got there we had to start to unpack everything out of the truck, after that was all done I went to get our arctic cat four wheeler from the woods so we could run our chairs out to the deer stands. The air was warm, but the November breeze made you wear a sweatshirt. We started driving; the trail is rough, bumpy and very muddy. The leaves so beautiful, the oranges, the reds and yellows falling to the ground as we follow the trails deeper and deeper into the woods we get. After about a 5-10 minute drive we finally come up to my stand which isn’t to far away from my dads only about 300 yards or so.
When we arrive to my stand and we hop off our wheelers and hear the wet mud squish underneath out boots, a very sticky mud where it almost pulls your boots off. Barely

We throw all of our clothes on; insulated jeans, wool socks, sweatshirt, jacket, bibs, and finally our big white bunny boots. We start the wheelers to let them warm up for a little while, we strap our guns and backpacks to the front of them so they wont fall off. We start going out there, going faster then normal so there will be time for everything to settle back down. We arrive to my stand and I tell my dad “good luck”, he says it back, I watch as hits lights slowly fade away in the woods then as I’m unstrapping my gear and covering it up, I hear the faint rumble of the wheeler turn off knowing he made it. I tie my gun and backpack up to the rope and climb up, I pull everything up and set them down, I pull my gun out and take the scope caps off, loading 3 rounds and one in the
