I have never been the best at remembering things. I always have to write everything down to make sure I remember things. As a student one of my strategy that has worked the best for me and has helped me tremendously to remember things is repetition. Since repetitions work so well for me I always tend to encourage whomever I’m teaching to try out the methods that work for me first and then if it doesn’t work for them I tend to look for alternatives. While I was in Mrs. Rosario classroom I realized that she used the same method of repetition with her students while they did the sorting assignment. Why it’s important to stating the questions the same way? In my opinion, the answer to that question is that stability that the teacher provided for the students helps them feel comfortable and also the student being able to recognize the similarity it’s important. When things starts to be recognized by the students that’s where the students start to make connections and start understanding what is going on in the assignments. Another really good strategy that in my opinion that worked well with the students was visuals. What I realized while doing my 15 hours is that most of the students were visual learners. They understated better what was going on if they could see it. For example, when I read the book to them, in my opinion, it felt like the words were meaningless, however, the pictures they loved to talk about it. They would say look at the wolf and so on. How I presented the text I think was a good approach for the students.
