What a year as a Big! The 2017-2018 Big Brother Big Sister Program was awesome. Having the opportunities to put smiles on students.Not only were my little’s the ones who had smiles on their faces but other students in the classroom as well. Seeing all the kids get excited when I walked into the classroom really made me feel like I was making a difference in the upcoming students. From the first day to the last I never noticed anything going down hill, everything was always improving.

The 2017/ 2018 school year as a senior was my first and only year of participating as a Big in the Big Brother Big Sister program. It is very disappointing that I was only able to participate for one year. At the Start of the school year I was nervous about …show more content…
Brycan was very quiet at the beginning of the year and im the opposite of quiet so I had a hard time getting him to warm up to my apperance. It happened faster then I expected though, which made things a lot easier for me and made me more comfortable as a big. Giving me the relief of knowing I was able to just become one of his friends you could say. Each Time I walk into Graff Elementry I just know that I will be getting told a story as soon as we sit down together, the only mistary with that is I have no clue what it will be about. It makes me laugh because sometimes Brycan will tell me a story about real like and how his day or weekend went and other times I am lost for words on how he thinks of some of the stories to make up and tell …show more content…
Jacob is a 6th grader who attents Laurel Middle School. I did not get put with jacob right away at the beginning of the school year, with jacob it was almost two months into the school year before getting put together. All year I have attended Laurel Middle School Jacab has been in band class. With Jacb playing his instrament; which is the trumpet, him and I never got to have the same chance to interact as some students did. Not to long ago his teacher finally started to give us oppertunities to go into what they call the practice room where its still in the classroom but its got an area to be able to talk and work on stuff without disctations of other students. Jacob has never been really a shy person, he has always been comfortable around me I feel like. My guess to that is because this year was not his first year having a big around so he had experience with the program and also was a bit older so he understood what was going on a bit better then younger
