In the time of the plague, my demise waited me. Cut down from the gallows, barely breathing. “Don't make me regret cutting you down” said the hangman. His name was Jarvis, and after getting his name he said a man with the name of “Captain John Bourbon” had some plans for me. He said I was about to be one of them. He proceeded to tell me I was taken by one of the creatures that reanimate the bodies to become zombies. “Prove your worth to me and the survivors of Devil's Crossing may just welcome you” Bourbon said. He wanted me to stop the bodies of the dead from rising. He called it “Aetherial energy” and that was the source of power that cause the dead to reawaken. Burial Hill was the closest location to us where zombies reanimated.

And after clearing out multiple crystals, I searched the area around Burial Hill. I found there was a cave under Burial hill. I nearly vomited as I entered the cave. As I peered further into the cave I saw zombies. There were easily fifty of them, followed up by more the green crystals. Determined to take care of this myself and prove myself to Bourbon I headed back to town. I geared up for the task I set before me. The huge creature kept behind the others throwing fragments of the crystals, which exploded on impact. Slowly but surely, I cleared of the zombies and avoided getting hit by the fragments. I was finally face to face with the creature. Every time the creature swung its arms at me I blocked it, and I followed it up with a swift attack across the chest and face. As I delivered the killing blow I covered my face with caution. The creature fell to the ground and screamed, and proceeded to burst.
I was gone for hours before I finally got back to Devil's Crossing. “The dead attacks have slowed and their numbers are thinning. I take that as a sign that you've dealt with the source”. I described the creature I killed, and what power it controlled.
Not only surprised by the fact that I killed the monster by myself, he looked puzzled about the fact that a creature was the cause of this. “Thanks to your efforts, we may yet hold out here a little longer.” Bourbon said.
