I decided to pick the violin out of the instruments included in the strings family, which is the violin, viola, cello and the bass. The string family has always been one of my favorites. I love hearing the violin being performed. It has such a smooth, elegant sound to it. I love how there is a wide variety of different shapes, sizes and colors of violins. Andrea Amati, created the first ever four-string violin around 1577. In the 16th century the cello was first seen being played in Italy. The cellos’ original name was the “violoncello”, since it looked just like a violin, only bigger, but was later shortened to what it is known as today as the “cello”.
