Personal Narrative: Coming To The United States

When I first came to United States on July 15, 2006, I realized a teacher can become a helpful person. Teachers have made me motivated to continue the process of how to write and speak English. Without their help I wouldn't be able to become the person who I am today. Coming to the United States wasn't easy at all. Not only did I have to leave everything behind, but I also had to get used to the new place that I called my second home. Being in the United States is a difficult journey in my life, not only because I have to learn English but also because I have to learn how to get used to the new environment that I never experienced before. My family moved to many different places to settle because they felt like the places that they stayed, weren't going to help them in the future. So finally, my family had settled in the city called Lagi, Binh Thuan. We spent most of our life there. I remember the city was so beautiful with a sunrise early every single morning. People would have a cup of coffee with them to drink while watching the sunrise. Not only that but they could also hear birds singing, chickens started making noise to let people in the neighborhood know that it was morning. People get along with everybody in the neighborhood, well sometimes, but not most of the time. I also remember when all the little kids, including me, would gather around and start to play hide and seek with each other. We would all be screaming, yelling, and laughing together. It was so fun that I would forget to go home and help my mom. Not only would we play with each other, but we would also gather everybody around in the neighborhood together to go to the beach. We would all fit into a van. (well it was not a van it; kind of looked like a van but with no roof). It had five wheels, and one person would drive in the back instead in the front.
