My Nana always tells me to “try new things because it can't do me any harm to try” and that I have the legs for any sport, so I should just to try them all. Well I try telling her that going here to Westlake it's mandatory that you do every sport I mean that's what we do in the gym. In 7th grade I learned to kind of appreciate it. It was 6th grade gym class when Ms.Dyer was out and Ms.Shalund was her sub. Our rotation was volleyball and I didn't know much about volleyball because in 5th grade we never played it. So she let us pick a group of 8. Once again it was 6th grade, no one barely knew anyone but hey we made it. My stomach turned as I searched for a group.

I have a natural skill of missing the ball when it would be passed to for practice. It doesn't matter where I'm positioned I never am able to actually hit it. The ball just automatically seems to find me. "Now that everyone is teaming up and ready, we can start. “I want teams 1-5,2-6,3-7." she said. As my team and I gathered on the other side of the net, all I could think about is "don't mess up,please don't mess up." My team had put me in the 3rd row in the first slot. I didn't complain because I thought it was the furthest so I wouldn't have to do anything. You know out of sight, outta mind. I was wrong because apparently I was serving in the position which meant I had to hit the ball over the net.
At the time the net had seemed to be a 1,000 miles away. There was no way I could do it and I knew I couldn't I had faith in myself that I would not and could not make it over. So after everyone got in position, I started to daydream. Next thing I know the ball was being tossed to me to hit it and POW! An amazing thing had just happened before my eyes, I made it over the net. I was so overjoyed and just in shock. I couldn't believe that I had went it over. The faces of the other team watching it as it flew over the net was priceless. They were probably in shock too, seeing that they didnt even attempt to hit it back over to
