Sophomore year basketball season I suffered from a concussion. We were playing in Concordia, I think. I don’t remember much from that game. The only thing I remember was my head getting sandwiched between a body and a stage. Also, I would like to say that was one of the best better basketball games I have played. Now I no longer play basketball. A very small part of my decision to no longer play was due to my concussion and the fact that I sat out for the last two weeks of the season because of it. I had learned a small lesson that year from getting concussed, but first, let me set the scene.

Pre-game rituals take place and it grows nearermore near to playing time. The night started with the JV game. I was one of the starters and seen as more of a leader since I was older than the freshman. We did our warm-ups to get loose and ready to play. Everyone gathered together in a huddle for words of encouragement and to shake any nerves before we started. The game began with a tip-off just like a normal game. The referee carefully tossed the ball in the air and Lainy vaulted herself up, extended her long arm and hit the ball back in my direction. I rushed for the ball and pushed it up the floor to try and get our team to score. We scored on the first possession and we then went on trading possessions and scores with the other team. The game was very fast paced and both of the teams were very aggressive. All of us were gasping for air and dripping with sweat as we hustled up and down the court. There was lots of cheering and yelling from all fans and spectators. Everyone was getting mad and the two teams began shoving and playing really rough. The rude boys from Concordia also added to the frustration, making the game even more dangerous for both teams. On one
