Experiencing the College Atmosphere
Many moments in a person’s life can alter who they become, and what they accomplish, these moments can be small, or they can be monuments. In my many moments of blessings, registering for college at Pikes Peak Community College was one of the monumental moments.
This decision shifted my life completely, and helped me to be on the path of a wanted purpose, that God has set out for me. Going to college was one of the best decisions I believe I could have ever made, but it was not because of the classes; although gaining my degree was great, it was the experience. Most times in college many students do not even engage with college events thinking they do not have time, or just do not care to become involved.

Once employed, I begin to assist students at the library to find academic sources for their papers, and the experience was quite satisfying. Many times I had students that were so overwhelmed they cried, and vented about the pressures of college, alleviating that pressure became a true goal that I wanted to achieve on a larger scale. At some point in my college career, I decided to join the Student Activities Board where I would plan events for students that were impactful. Although planning events for students became my true joy, I wanted to assist students on a larger scale, so I joined Student Government to become the voice of the students, and eventually, I even became the Vice President of the association. I found such a purpose in helping students that one day I decided to make it my career in life, as well as college. Through extreme networking, and hard-work, and some assistance from the trinity, I am now employed at
Pikes Peak Community College as the Student Event Coordinator, planning events that change students’ lives at all three campuses. Although I do thank God for all plans I have fell into for the
