The way we talked about her made it seem as if she had just died, when really we were all gathered to celebrate another decade of her life. “Lets go around and say our favorite memory of Cyrah.” Cassandra shouted.
“Oh joy!” Cyrah said sarcastically.
“Okay what if Squirt goes first and we’ll go counter-clockwise.” Taylor said.
I began, “I just hope my memory serves me well, but my favorite memory of Cyrah was when we were having a dorm meeting and Cyrah walked in wearing a sombrero hat. I remember thinking ‘where did she get that hat?’ but all she told us was, ‘Don’t ask. Its from a white elephant game.’ And then went to her room.”
“I actually don’t have that hat anymore.” Cyrah admitted as she took a sip of her drink.
Next up was JoJo who recounted, “I remember Cyrah was the first friend that I made during my first year at University. Somehow we started talking about TV shows and I told her that I liked My Little Pony and it seemed as if she was going to say, ‘I like My Little Pony too’, but instead said Star Wars.”
