Personal Narrative: Football Cheerleaders

This year my wrestling cheerleading group and also the football cheerleaders had a mini cheer camp like always to let the little girls grades kindergarten through sixth grade participate in what it is like to be a cheerleader. This camp is two days long. The first day was Monday, January 23. On Monday when all of the girls are coming into the gym they are offered cookies and water and we introduce ourselves to the girls. My wrestling cheerleading group had kindergarten through third. The football cheerleaders had fourth grade through sixth grade. We have way more girls in the younger group. After we introduced ourself each group started teaching the girls a dance that we would perform at the basketball game on Tuesday night. Finally, when the girls were done with working on the dance for the second time on Monday night they head home for the night. After school on Tuesday, January 24 the girls come back to the high school gym and they get cookies and other snacks right when they get there. We work on the dance again. By now the girls have a good understanding of what the dance is and they’re doing really well with learning it. Once we have worked on the dance for awhile the girls split up into another three groups. One of the groups is us wrestling cheerleaders teaching the girls wrestling cheers. The younger girls grades kindergarten through third grade who are with us wrestling cheerleaders will also perform three of our cheers that we thought them Red Hot, Power, and We’re number one. The next group is the basketball cheerleaders teaching the older group of girls grades fourth through sixth.
