Personal Narrative: Football Through The Lineman

American football player and coach, Vince Lombardi, once said, “Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority. Playing football for the first time was nerve wracking and I thought I was not strong enough, not fast enough, and thought I could not get through the linemen. After watching two quarters of the game I felt better better at the sport, I understood it and I psyched myself up so I could break through the linemen. After I watched and I understood how to play my part the coach put me in the game and all the things that I thought I could not do I was able to. Playing football for the first time was nerve wracking and I thought I was not strong enough, not fast enough, and thought I could not get through the linemen. The reason why I thought I could not get through the line because when I was looking at the roster for Sisseton and I seen some really high statistics from them. I seen some tall heights, heavy weights, and fast guys on there team. This is why I thought I could not get through the line. After I told coach I understand how to play my part and where I stand in the game he said “i’ll put you in the game, next down.” When I got into the game most people from the team cheered me onto the field. When I got in the line I was lined up with their biggest guy on their team and he was a little bit bigger than I was, when I was looking at him he was trying to intimidate but I was not intimidated by him. When the game was in play I pushed the guy that was trying to intimidate me hard as I could and he moved as easy as pushing a cart with food inside of it.
