Growing up in a Vietnamese family has shaped me to who I am today. My parents came over to America from Vietnam when they were really young. They would work day in and day out without ever taking a break, so they could pay for my tuition. They valued education and taught me that it is a tool to change your future. Right after middle school, they decided that it would be best to enroll me in a private catholic school. After turning fourteen, I took my first steps through the doors of De La Salle North Catholic. The student body was very diverse and it helped me to see the world from different racial perspectives.
