How football has changed me
In my four years of high school football, I have changed since I started playing my freshman year to my final game my senior year. Some of the ways football has changed me is by teaching me how to be physically and mentally tough, emotionally strong, and has also taught me how to work with others.
Football has taught me to be physically tough by being a physical person on and off the football field. By putting me in these unusual and difficult situations, either in a game or in practice, I know I would have to be more physical than my opponent to succeed. By putting me in some of those situations it helped me in the long run by remembering what it is I have to do to succeed again. Also, another way of getting me physically tough was in the weight room by lifting weights to where I felt like I couldn’t do anything and always having my friends around pushing me to my limits. They encouraged me to do more and to never cheat myself at practice where I'm surrounded by a group of people who want me achieve my goals. “We are all born with a unique genetic blueprint, which lays out the basic characteristics of our personality as well as our physical health and appearance... And yet, we all know that life experiences do change us” (Vinge). By never giving up on me and pushing me to do my very best all the time, while the coaches never doubted that I couldn't do anything, I wanted to understand my physical strength on and off the football field.
