Everyone understands the stress and pressure that is brought up when starting something new. What many people don't understand is how hard it can be for someone with Down Syndrome. It was the spring of 2017 when I took a volunteering job of coaching Upward Soccer. I was 17 at the time. I had a job, was going to school, working on my Eagle Scout project, and trying to have a social life all on top of coaching. The kids were all three years old and this my first time ever coaching. As you can imagine this was very stressful. I also had the responsibility of communicating with the parents. One the first day of practice I was very nervous to meet the kids. As the kids slowly trickle in to practice I introduce myself to the kids and the parents.
