Personal Narrative: How Tendinitis Changed My Life

Waking up screaming and crying with excruciating pain in both of my knees, not being able to walk or carry my weight was when I realized that I had to stop pushing my knees to that point. Little did I know, this was going to change my life forever. Ever since that day, I had learned that my life had been changed forever and that I was going to have to learn to face a problem for the rest of my life. But from this experience, I would learn to grow from it. Being diagnosed with tendinitis was one of the worst things that ever happened to me, but I turned it into something that benefitted me by using it to push me for greater success. Being diagnosed with tendinitis helped me realize what I would like to do as a career. So, all I kept asking myself was why me? And why did these things happen after everything that I worked so hard for just for them to fail? Being forced to let go of a dream that I had wanted for all of my life was a devastating for me to do in my first year of high school, but this could not be the end of my career and I was not going to let it. While I was there, I was wishing that I could have a second chance but I learned to make the most of my experiences. Physical therapy may have been very challenging for me because I needed to start over and it was a very low point in my life, but it made me realize what I have an interest in. Throughout my sessions, my physical therapist taught me a lot about the body and gave me the idea that maybe, like her, I could be in her shoes one day helping
