We all have or will eventually experience that one person who throws someone under the bus for something they did not do. Once there was two varsity basketball players who were star players and were trying out for the same slot at their top choice college. They were always friends, they did everything together. People called them the dynamic duo. They practiced together, they played together, and they even toured colleges together. They seemed inseparable. Until one college basketball coach changed everything. One day at practice a college coach was touring our high school teams and noticed the women’s varsity basketball team. Then we found out the sad truth, only one of us was going to make the team. Therefore soon after that the dynamic duo became a solo act we grew apart, motivated by the possible scholarship opportunity and the try outs we had to train for. It wasn’t fun and games anymore this was serious competition. I intended to win, until something happened. We were practicing for our big championship game which also happened to be a week before try outs and the college coach was going to be at the game to look for scholarship talent, I was getting ready in the locker room and when I came out the coach didn’t let me practice. He said that Emily had told him that I had a sprained foot but was trying to tough it out. I tried to explain to my coach but he didn’t believe me and then he also pulled me from this weekend’s game. I understand why Emily had done it but I was not going to stoop to her level and become as nasty as she was I was going to do something that would blow her mind.
