Personal Narrative: Is It Worth Learning To Drive?

When I was born I didn’t know how to walk, talk, drive, read, write, etc. I learned how to do these day-to-day necessities as I needed them throughout the years. As I grew older I had to learn one more major necessity of life, driving. My sixteenth birthday was approaching and so was that time to get my permit. Learning to drive seemed extremely scary to me, but I understood that my parents couldn’t drive me around my whole life. In order to get my permit I studied cover to cover of the Texas Driver Handbook. I also got online and searched for quizzes that I could take to see if I was retaining all of the information. Once I had completed studying the handbook and the six-hour course online I could finally go take the written test at the DMV’s office. The results were in. I had passed! Now I could start learning how drive. After the permit’s minimum requirement of six months I was ready to go back to the DMV’s office to take the driving test. I was as ready as I would ever be, but I was still extremely nervous to have someone judge me based on my driving skills. …show more content…
Once I set the car on park the DMV lady told me exactly what I wanted to hear, I had passed once again! I finally didn’t need anyone to be in the car with me.
