Personal Narrative

Many things probably happen for a reason. So getting lost while hiking the mountains in Mexico probably happened for a reason. I remember being five or six years old just trying to explore and have fun with my brother. Little did we know we were gonna be in trouble. It was a scorching day, my brother and I wanted to go check out the mountains and just have an adventure so we headed towards them. The mountains we unfamiliar to us since we have only been in Mexico for about a week. I had an unsettling feeling about what we were doing since we decided not to tell anyone about it. I asked my brother if we should park anything, his response was “we are only gonna be gone for a little bit” with that squeaky voice of his. I wonder

As we went higher up the mountains, I could see that we were drifting apart from “home”. I hated the feeling I felt during that time. We stopped at two different trails, my brother wanted to go right into which I responded “okay” to because I didn't want to be the mean sister and say no. We took different trails as we went further. Once we reached a certain point we decided to go back. The only problem was that we forgot which way to go back down and I felt responsible for getting lost.
I revealed to my brother that we were lost, his only reaction was to cry and I had no idea what to do.The only thing I remembered while we were going up was a tree surrounded by rocks. I knew that if we spotted it, we were going the right direction. I held my brothers’ petite hand into mines to calm him. The only thing that mattered was to get home safe. I had to be courageous and let my fears aside. We could see the sun beginning to hide behind the moon. I had to hurry before the sun disappeared to get us home. We walked and walked, but we couldn't find our Savior. The worst part was that we were hungry with no food. I knew I shouldn't have listened to my brother, but can you blame me. My brother kept crying then suddenly stopped and told me “I SEE IT I SEE IT!” At first I was confused to what was coming out of his mouth and then I realized what he was talking about.
