It may be the last time I’ll ever see them again. How could anyone replace them? They have been by my side for my most joyful moments and hardest failures, and now I must leave my friends behind as I depart to Germany.
On November 13th, 2014, my father was accepted into the United States Army Environmental Engineering Department of Health to work on the safety of their water systems.The new job meant that at the end of the first semester of my junior year in high school I would have to pack my bags and prepare to move to Germany. At the time, I was blinded by a fog of worry and could not see the benefits and opportunities of this journey. All I could think about was how much I would miss my friends.
