Personal Narrative: Moving To Texas

When I was a child, I was always getting teased of my originality. I am originally Lebanese and when people think of Lebanon they think of war and violence. When I was in middle school people always called me a terrorist and they said I was going to horrible things to the school. For example, It was a hot and dull Friday afternoon, we were outside playing soccer on the turf field. Towards the end of the day the boy came up to me with a group of friends and started pushing me around. One of them tripped me and I collapsed face first onto the burning turf field, and as I tried to maneuver to my back I could feel my face burning in the exhaust. I then got up and told him to please stay away from me or I'm going to tell a teacher. Then, he called me a terrorist again and his friends turned and walked out of sight. I thought Texas was just about people getting drunk and getting into duels. I thought all of that based on some stereotypes. I felt like a hypocrite the moment I started to think of what I thought of Texas and how I judged it before I even saw it or been in it. After I moved to Texas I realized that Its more modern than any place I have traveled to and It turned out to be the nicest place i’ve traveled to as well. So I learned a big lesson that day and i just couldn’t get over the fact that I got mad for people judging me from where i’m from but I actually judged all of the people living in Texas before I moved to it. I strongly believe in this quote ( “never judge a book by it’s cover”) because people think that some people are bad and evil just because we're there from or what their religion they are or even how they look. So before you start calling someone a name for where they're from or how they look just remember to never judge a book by its
