My expectation for ground school was quit the contrary to what it actually embodied. I knew ground school was partially based off of military principles, therefore I was anticipating physical hardship but I wasn’t expecting to be challenged down to my spiritual core. Ground school in its entirety is oriented to point to the cross. Without exception, every training exercise imposed upon the candidates serves as a bridge to point back to the Gospel. Throughout the two weeks every candidate asks themselves if they want to quit, the choice is there, the option is accessible. The initial two weeks of Fusion makes every candidate evaluate if its worth it, if the Gospel is worth living with a loss of comfort and justice. Fusion allows each candidate
