Personal Narrative: My Brother's Death

My parents are perfect, just as you would see in movies, until my brother’s death. He was everyone’s go-to man, yet that is when my mom and dad had lost it. After my brother died, my mother, Shelly, could never handle any problem on her own. If she tried, it was most likely because she was taking drugs or binge drinking. While my father, John, never could succeed in getting along with anyone, especially me. Finally, there’s me. I don’t feel that I have changed too much, but everyone says I have.
My family and I live in Newport News, Virginia. It's less populated than some of the surrounding cities. I am finishing my senior year this year and so far it is going okay. My only problem is that people still bring up my brother and what happened

I read the article and skim down to about the fifth line. There lays his name and age, Joseph Cornell /18. A few lines further down in the article it explains that he died due to a shot in his brain. I look through the paper to see if the article is written anywhere else and it is. I find a part that was written by his friend. It explains that Joseph jumped in front of him, took the shot, and saved his life. At the end the paper it says that there will be no viewing for the people that died at that club, and that if you the 38,000 dollars your family could have the body back in there state. That’s the main reason I want to go to this club. I feel that he is still there waiting me.
I look at my watch to see the time and it’s 7:00 am. I figured that since I still have three more hours of a ride that it might be a better time to plan what I want to do after I leave here. I know that the cheapest way would be to take the bus, but I do not like this ride so who knows about the next. I know that I definitely want to go to California and change my name. At least there my parent would never be able to find me again, but I just don’t know… I don’t know … don’t
