In my future, I expect to be doing different kinds of writing depending on the space that I am in and the job that I will be doing. I am currently a nursing student hoping to be working in a hospital after I finish my degree. I will be writing different nursing-related research papers during my career as a student and as a Registered Nurse. In my everyday job the majority of my writing will be in the form of charting for my patients and drafting emails to correspond with my colleagues. I have lived in the southeast section of the city my entire life, and because of the size of Calgary I very rarely ventured outside of the southeast. My father was raised just outside of the city, so most of his side of the family is located very close to us. I grew up with a lot of involvement from the paternal side of my family. I preferred math and the different sciences to writing essays; however, my skills have improved since I began high school thanks to dedicated teachers that wanted to help me succeed. The sections of writing that I struggle with were to do with word choices, many different teachers told me that I needed to expand my vocabulary; my other weakness has always been my spelling and grammar. I know that my writing always improves if I am able to have someone read over it to catch any mistakes. My strengths in writing have always been my ability to fully explore a topic and to bring in a different insight into my writing, and I have always been good at using and explaining quotes within my writing. I really want to be able to improve my writing as much as I can because I know that it is a vital skill to be able to have, so I always strive to take the feedback from my instructors and place it into my next
