I was prescribed Fish oil 1 g tablet, and it is taken orally three times a day with meals. The regimen was for a week. I knew that, the prescribed regimen was very tough to follow. Yet, It was hard to follow the regimen because of the my busy schedule. The college schedule time is starting from 8 am to 5 pm, and the regimen was three times a day with meals. So, I had to manage myself in such a way that I can take the medication with the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Moreover, I had to modify my diet to reflect on medication regimen. Also, I was not used to eat my meal three times a day, and it is inflexible to follow up with three times a day schedule when you are busy with college. The regimen was not only time consuming, but also it changed my routine while following that regimen. Being in the health professional program, I do understand that how much important to adhere to prescribed mediaction. Although, the regimen follow up was not only time consuming, but also it changed my routine while following the regimen. I never had to take any medication regimen so far. So, this activity helped me to understand patient perspective. Now, I understand how difficult it must be for my father-in-law to follow a medication regimen or in fact for any patient. I would like to encourage patient to adhere to their medication by providing patient education and
