A challenge I faced was having to deal with the hardships associated with being an immigrant. I come from a Mexican family and I myself was born in Mexico. However, I was brought to the US as a kid. Only being 1 year old at my arrival I definitely struggled adapting to the new environment. Even Though I was small and don't remember the process of crossing the border I do remember the hardships we experienced after our arrival. We were constantly changing houses and my mom found it hard to find a job. My father by the time we arrived had already lived in the US for a while. However instead of helping us he would degrade my mother and take advantage of our ignorance.
