City of Medicine Academy, class of 2016. Three years had passed and the luring sound of Pomp and Circumstance was more vivid than ever. I was finally a senior. My friends and i frequently discussed all the “pros” of being a senior. Off campus lunch, late arrival, and early dismissal were all right at our fingertips. I’d imagined myself graduating early or taking easy to moderate courses to finish my senior year off stress free, as junior year is the most tedious. Instead, I decided that graduating early wasn’t an option so i signed up for Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) known as the hardest class at my school. That decision alone was my initial sign of transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
