Hot summer day back in 2012, I was playing a flag football tournament for my church. I was about twelve years old. My shirt was all sweaty like I jumped in a pool with my clothes on. Every year ,my church loses. There will be times that we lost so much my teammates became irritated. I had faith in my team that we could win a game, so having hope was going to be a key for this game. My team was going against Memphis; it was difficult. Our quarterback was ready; we only needed ten yards to score and win. Now there was nothing distracting my entire team because we were serious about scoring. My quarterback decided to throw a hail mary, so I ran fast like a cheetah. The safety wasn’t ready for my cheetah speed ,and I ran ten feet behind in front of him. I was open. Quarterback saw me wide open, and threw it perfectly toward my hands. I caught it, feeling the my hands gripping the ball like a spider catching its prey. We won. Everyone from my church that was watching from the sidelines screamed like a storm was coming, and the players lifted me up. I was so proud because of the win and how, just by one person having hope can change any situation. Memphis beat us every year until now. Memphis gave us handshakes and told each other good game. Everyone at my church and this camp learned a lesson, never give up. It doesn’t matter how “good” you are, but if you have a strong faith that is set for God; you can do anything. Winning is good, but was better is how to learn from your mistakes and if you made a mistake, don’t give up. Those characteristics can change not just you, but everyone around
