I cannot help but to feel that the defendants’ actions were not to protect the patient, but to actually harm the patient. I cannot wrap my mind around the reason she felt like it was appropriate at any point to slap the patients’ legs, not just once, but multiple times. I am dumbfound that a person in a position to help others, would do such a thing. I feel that this was definitely an act of assault. I believe that no one has the right to ever lay their hands on someone else, no matter what their reasoning. In regards to the restraint usage, I feel that the defendant improperly placed the restraints by crossing the patient’s legs; therefore I feel that she did not follow proper policy and procedure opening herself up for legal litigation.
