Personal Narrative: My Experience With 4-H.

It all began the summer of my 7th grade year. I came rushing home one day from the bus, eager to tell my mom my brilliant idea; to raise a steer and show him at county fair. However, showing a steer comes with many obstacles. I grew up in Parker with a backyard that was about 6 feet by 2 feet. Clearly not enough room for any type of livestock. I also grew up riding horses however my home was in the gym. Much beyond my experience with horses, I did not have any agricultural experience, nor did my parents. I knew I had many obstacles to overcome but I knew I could persevere in order to achieve my dream. I called the county 4-H office, requested a list of 4-H leaders and started making calls.
